LETTER FROM THE MINISTER
March
Dear Spiritual Family,

When I was at the Association Mid-year meetings I heard the loveliest quote from Doug Krug who speaks on “The Transformation Experience” and “Enlightened Leadership.”
“Dreams, not desperation, move organizations to their highest and best.”
I agree, but I also feel that this not only applies to organizations but it applies to us, individually, as well. This last year and a half has seen so many changes in our lives – jobs, finances, institutions, things we took for granted. At times it seems as though everything has been tossed up in the air and has yet to land.
Change can bring anxiety, fear, and yes, desperation. There is a tendency to be re-active to challenging conditions vs. being pro-active. Doug Krug’s quote reminds us that our dreams and the passions that drive our dreams are the powers that move us to greatness.
As we face current challenges we need to think about the times when we were told “You can’t do it! You aren’t good enough! You’ll never pull it off!” And remember that when our back was against the wall – we did do it, we were better than good, and we did pull it off.
We are such incredible creations - clever, strong, resilient, and resourceful. Maybe these times are the means to move us all to more wisdom, more ingenuity, and more compassion, in other words, to our highest and best.
With love, blessings, dreams, & passion,
Rev. Jan
