Spiritual Education and Enrichment
This is the list of class descriptions for the Spiritual
Development Program (previously known as Personal Development Classes)
as listed on the Unity
Village Website. The classes are grouped into 4 catagories: Biblical,
Metaphysical, Prayer, and Interdepartmental Studies. These classes are
taught both at Unity Village and Fox Valley Unity. See Spiritual

BIBLICAL STUDIES:
Bible Overview
Build your Bible knowledge with this overview of biblical history and metaphysics.
Make sure you take this basic course as early in your studies as possible.
Jesus’ Teachings
in the Bible
A literal and metaphysical exploration of the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth
uncovers the heart of the Unity message—and how that message evolves
through the process of life.
The Christ in the Bible
Learn how Old Testament messianic prophecy and New Testament accounts of the
life and ministry of Jesus tell not only the story of Christ in history,
but of Christ awakening in every soul.
The Creative Process in the Bible
Explore creativity, the biblical creation story, and the interpretations of
Unity cofounder Charles Fillmore as you deepen your creative, spiritual self.
With the emphasis on daily life applications, you’ll learn how to use
all the steps in the creative process and bring the good you seek into your
life.
Interpreting the Bible
Develop biblical interpretation skills as you review classic Unity commentaries
on Old and New Testaments and learn about Unity’s metaphysical approach
to understanding biblical literature.
Old Testament Bible Interpretation
The tools of metaphysical interpretation are used to explore various
stories from the Old Testament.
New Testament Bible Interpretation
This course will utilize the tools of metaphysical interpretation to explore
the letters and the Book of Revelation.
METAPHYSICAL STUDIES:
Prosperity
Study the fundamental laws of prosperity. Charles Fillmore’s classic
Prosperity forms the basis for this examination of prosperity—in concept
and application—as a way of life.
The Twelve Powers of Man
Explore the twelve fundamental attributes of Divine Mind that form our spiritual
nature and express themselves through our minds as divine ideas and faculties.

Lessons in Truth
Broaden your consciousness with a basic introduction to metaphysical study
and the practical use of Truth principles in daily living. Based on H. Emilie
Cady’s classic Lessons in Truth, first published in 1895, with the
addition of newly formulated metaphysical insights.
Jesus Christ Heals
Examine Jesus’ methods and message of spiritual healing through a review
of Charles Fillmore’s book Jesus Christ Heals.
Discover the Power Within You
Take a fresh look at the gospel of Jesus from a metaphysical and philosophical
point of view. See how the great idea of “Christ in you”—emphasized
in Eric Butterworth’s book—can lead to biblical and personal
revelations.
Talks on Truth
Learn Christian theology from Unity’s unique perspective through a study
of Charles Fillmore’s doctrinal and metaphysical insights.
Christian Healing
Deepen your understanding of the Truth principles that are based on the teachings
of Jesus and presented in Charles Fillmore’s book. Emphasis on practical
application.
How to Let God Help You
Gain a sense of the strength and depth of Myrtle Fillmore, Unity cofounder

The Quest, The Simple Truth
or Unity for Today 
Increase your awareness of Unity Truth principles and discover how spiritual

home study. Unity for Today is only offered as an online self-study course.

Life of Prayer, Part B
Take a more in-depth look at your prayer life through a study of Myrtle Fillmore’s
Healing Letters, as well as other writings from Silent Unity leaders.
INTERDEPARTMENTAL STUDIES:
Development of the Unity Movement
Examine the development of the Unity movement as an institution and an idea.
Review the spiritual evolution of Charles and Myrtle Fillmore and their unique
contributions and consciousness, the influence of Emma Curtis Hopkins and
H. Emilie Cady, the development of focus and identity in the teachings, the
emergence of Silent Unity and the field ministries, and the spiritual principles
and mystical themes underlying the expansion of Unity’s work.
Background of New Thought and Unity
Explore the ideas and events that led to the emergence of Christian Science,
the New Thought tradition, and Unity. Students will gain a greater understanding
of both the similarities and differences among these three traditions.
